    Wise Women- Poetry Reflection

by: Leandra Standing in her kitchen, she ponders her life Her never ending job as a mother and wife She thinks back to the days of Olde And how the witches lived as the stories are told So much has changed throughout all these years Fear for their lived replaced with new fears Do we let it slip at work of the path that we follow? And face friendships replaced by words that are hollow? She stirs a pot that’s simmering on the stove Thinking back again to her ancestors in groves Gone are the cauldrons and cast iron pots Replaced by microwaves and thousands of watts Gone are the…

    Wise Women—Past and Present

Many Directions in Faith by: Alana Yesterday, well many yesterdays ago, my faith in God was empty, fruitless. Locked in my desire to do the right thing, it was hard to turn away from an ideal that had never fit, and fear of damnation jailed me in my own misery. We hear about Amelia Earhart , Marie Curie, and possibly Frida Kahlo in our art classes. They are a footnote, hidden in the index, but rarely discussed in-depth to our daughters by the larger society. There are so many women, past and present, that exemplify strength, compassion, and intelligence; because women’s history is often relegated to one month, for the remaining of…

    A Circle of Healing

by Lori F.   “How am I supposed to heal? How do I make these deep wounds, these horrible losses I have suffered, fade from memory and spirit?” As I stand in a circle of women, their voices rising and fading in endless tones of healing and love, these words come to my mind. Words I had begged the Goddess to answer the night before as I stood under the full moon, robed in black and holding a cauldron of pure Divine energy in my hands. She had not answered me then. She had instead filled my heart with love and cradled Her daughter in Her arms. She was a…
