Drawing Down the New Moon

Samantha Weisberg

The perpetual darkness envelops my soft tissue
revitalizing me with lustful potency.

I don’t fumble through the black.
I ascend.

Alone in the pitch, I release
as my pulse drums
down into
the
spiraling
flame.
